Bobby has been doing martial arts for over 25 years. As is the story with most martial artists, he started training in Taekwondo and Karate at a young age, where he achieved a red belt in both arts. Later in life he ventured into combat sports such as mixed martial arts, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, boxing, and kickboxing where he would train and eventually compete in each sport. After training several years in combat sports he grew closer to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, focusing most of his time towards it, to soon earn his blue belt. He later opened Horsepower Combat Sports, teaching mma and Bjj. There he taught and coached several amateur and professional fighters. He decided to close his gym to dedicate himself back to purely Bjj when coaches Ian Lawler and William Ewers opened Adversity Training Center in Somerset, Ky. Not long after they opened, he found a permanent home there, giving up his blue belt to start his journey over, learning through a new affiliation. Through Adversity Training Center, he has since earned his blue, and purple belt from black belt Russ Edwards. He represents the ATC competition team where he has earned several 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes competing at events in several surrounding states. During his Bjj career, he has trained with several veterans of the sport such as Hermes Franca, Josh Cate, Junie Browning, Josh Hayden, Joe Baize, Mike O’Donnell, Nate Jolly, and several others. He currently is a instructor at ATC, focused on teaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
